Senior Software Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Poland.

📋 Description

• Design, develop, and manage scalable search platform functionalities within a cloud infrastructure.

• Operate and enhance production systems that support high-volume, mission-critical workflows for customers.

• Create high-quality, maintainable code by applying effective software engineering principles.

• Diagnose intricate production issues, rectify defects, and assist with incidents impacting customers.

• Enhance observability, automation, capacity planning, and operational readiness for the search infrastructure.

• Engage in production support and on-call duties following suitable onboarding procedures.

• Work in conjunction with engineering, SRE, product, and architecture teams to advance the search platform roadmap.

• Contribute to the construction, maintenance, and scaling of the petabyte-scale search platform that powers RelativityOne.

• Recognize and implement optimizations, drive platform improvements, establish and advocate for engineering standards, and influence future service architecture.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical discipline, or equivalent practical experience.

• Over 5 years of professional experience in developing commercial-grade software systems or infrastructure platforms.

• Proven experience in building, operating, or scaling distributed systems in a production environment.

• Familiarity with managing mission-critical systems at scale, emphasizing reliability, availability, and operational readiness.

• Experience in production support or on-call roles, including incident response, troubleshooting, and root cause analysis.

• Strong analytical skills and the capability to diagnose complex system behaviors using operational data.

• Background in designing or developing scalable solutions within a major public cloud environment.

• Proficient programming experience in a modern backend language.

• Ability to collaborate effectively with engineering, SRE, product, and architecture teams.

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.

• Preferred: experience in managing and scaling petabyte-scale search, indexing, or retrieval infrastructure.

• Preferred: familiarity with Elasticsearch, OpenSearch, Lance, TurboPuffer, or similar search/vector infrastructures.

• Preferred: experience with Kubernetes, container orchestration, and operations in cloud-native platforms.

• Preferred: knowledge of Azure cloud infrastructure, platform engineering, or cloud infrastructure management.

• Preferred: expertise in Infrastructure as Code and automation tools such as Pulumi, Terraform, or comparable technologies.

• Preferred: experience with CI/CD pipelines, deployment automation, and progressive delivery practices.

• Preferred: background in building or operating monitoring, observability, and alerting systems like Grafana, Prometheus, or New Relic.

• Preferred: comfortable working within Linux-based production environments.

• Preferred: experience in enhancing performance, reliability, cost efficiency, or reducing operational toil in large-scale infrastructure systems.
