Senior Software Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Poland.

📋 Description

• You are responsible for building and maintaining backend services, APIs, data persistence, and frontend interfaces, with design decisions made collaboratively.

• You work in small increments, integrate frequently, and ensure the codebase remains in a releasable state at all times.

• You design APIs with the end-user in mind, ensuring they are intuitive, versioned, consistent, and capable of evolving.

• You share ownership of data modeling decisions with your team, including schema design, query patterns, and migration strategies.

• You create automated tests as a primary deliverable—covering unit, integration, and API levels—and implement observability in your software from the outset.

• You continuously enhance existing code; refactoring is an integral part of delivery, not a separate task.

• You deploy and operate software collaboratively, ensuring that everyone on the team understands how the system functions in production, not just the last developer who made changes.

• You clearly document design decisions, API contracts, and domain knowledge in writing, while proactively communicating about blockers, trade-offs, and progress.

• You regularly pair with teammates and share effective patterns and tools—including AI workflows—with the team.

• Code reviews are a team practice rather than a gatekeeping measure. You provide feedback that enhances both the code and the engineer, and you receive feedback with equal openness.

⛳️ Requirements

• You possess over 5 years of professional software engineering experience with production delivery, demonstrating the ability to shape systems rather than merely implementing features.

• You have a true full-stack capability—backend, APIs, data layer, and frontend—with the ability to deliver complete features without handoffs.

• You have extensive API development experience, including design, implementation, versioning, and a consumer-first mindset.

• You are proficient with databases in both relational and document paradigms.

• You adhere to automated testing practices, viewing tests as an essential part of delivery rather than an afterthought.

• You have awareness of cloud deployment, understanding how software transitions from code to production.

• You actively utilize AI-assisted development tools (such as Copilot, Cursor, Kiro, or similar).

• You communicate clearly and effectively in writing, in English, defaulting to asynchronous communication while using synchronous time purposefully.

• Good to have:

• You possess infrastructure-as-code experience (Terraform, Pulumi, CDK, or equivalent).

• You engage in hands-on observability, ensuring you instrument what you deliver.

• You have awareness of software design principles, including SOLID principles, and know when not to apply them.

• You have experience with NoSQL or document stores (like MongoDB, Elasticsearch, or similar).

• You apply security awareness in design and implementation, focusing on input validation, authentication patterns, and dependency hygiene.

• You have experience working in a remote-first or distributed engineering team.

• You are familiar with event-driven architecture or microservices patterns.
