Senior Software Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Illinois.

📋 Description

• Develop high-quality backend services in Go and Python, which encompass APIs, data pipelines, business logic, and integrations.

• Create and sustain frontend features using TypeScript and React, focusing on UI excellence and client-side performance.

• Perform thorough code reviews to ensure code quality.

• Lead the creation of architectural decision records and hands-on prototypes.

• Advocate for HIPAA compliance and best practices in data management, authentication, encryption, and audit logging.

• Guarantee the availability and reliability of applications and systems.

• Set up and oversee monitoring, logging, and alerting systems.

• Collaborate with developers to design, implement, and manage CI/CD pipelines.

• Enhance the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) through improved branch strategies, automated testing gates, progressive delivery, and rollback procedures.

• Integrate security and compliance checks within CI/CD pipelines.

• Oversee AWS and GCP cloud infrastructure to ensure scalability, availability, and cost-effectiveness.

• Manage infrastructure using code tools like Terraform and Terragrunt.

• Administer Kubernetes clusters on AWS EKS and GCP GKE.

• Deploy and maintain deployment tools such as Helm, Kustomize, ArgoCD, and Flux.

• Troubleshoot workloads, oversee cluster upgrades, and enhance operational maturity.

• Travel 2–3 times per year.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 7 years of experience in software engineering, demonstrating a consistent record of hands-on technical contributions.

• Advanced proficiency in Go and/or Python backend development, producing idiomatic and production-quality code.

• Strong programming skills in Python and similar languages for tasks related to automation, tooling, and operational scripting.

• Practical knowledge of Kubernetes (EKS, GKE), including workload debugging, resource tuning, and rollout management.

• Experience in production-level TypeScript/React frontend development.

• Hands-on experience with AWS and GCP, including managed services, networking, IAM, and container workloads.

• Familiarity with monitoring and observability tools such as Prometheus and Elastic Cloud or similar alternatives.

• Practical experience with CI/CD processes using GitHub Actions and GitLab.

• Hands-on experience using Terraform and Terragrunt.

• Strong skills in PostgreSQL, including schema design, complex query optimization, indexing, partitioning, and migration management.

• Experience in regulated or high-stakes environments where data privacy and auditability are critical.

• Proven analytical problem-solving skills for complex, cross-system challenges.

• Must be authorized to work in the US without the need for sponsorship.
