Senior Software Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Guatemala.

📋 Description

• Spearhead the technical design, development, and upkeep of scalable, secure, and high-performing software systems.

• Establish software architecture and make pivotal technology-direction decisions for the product.

• Collaborate with Product Owners and various departments to convert business requirements into technical solutions.

• Mentor and guide development teams while promoting engineering best practices, which encompass coding, code reviews, testing, and CI/CD.

• Oversee the resolution of critical issues and support decisions related to bugs, refactoring, and performance optimization.

• Supervise team deliverables and ensure technical quality through code reviews, automated testing, and performance monitoring.

• Champion continuous improvement and the adoption of agile best practices, including Scrum and Kanban methodologies.

• Encourage collaboration and ongoing learning within the team.

• Assist in recruiting technical talent and engage in the training and development of team members.

• Stay informed about new technologies and industry trends that are pertinent to the product and processes.

• Propel and enhance AI-assisted workflows.

• Take ownership of and improve quality gates.

• Tackle performance and modeling challenges.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 6 years of experience in software development.

• At least 2–3 years in technical leadership positions.

• Experience in migrating or rewriting legacy systems is advantageous.

• Background in hospital, healthcare, insurance, banking, or other regulated/high-stakes domains is a plus.

• Proficiency in advanced Java; minimum of Java 17 and comfortable transitioning to Java 25 LTS.

• Familiarity with Spring Boot 3.x/4.x.

• Knowledge of Spring Security 6/7.

• Experience with Spring Cloud Gateway.

• Proficient in TypeScript and Vue 3 Composition API.

• Knowledge of PrimeVue 4.5+.

• Experience with Vite 6+.

• Familiarity with Vitest 3+.

• Experience using Pinia.

• Ability to build schema-driven dynamic forms and master-detail screens.

• Knowledge of Keycloak / OIDC / JWT, including realm modeling, RS256 validation, and client/scope design.

• Proficiency with Docker and Kubernetes.

• Experience with Kustomize overlays, health/readiness probes, structured logging, and Micrometer/Prometheus.

• Familiarity with JUnit 5.

• Experience with Testcontainers and Oracle.

• Proficient in Playwright E2E.

• Experience working with AI coding assistants such as Claude Code, Cursor, or Copilot; including designing prompts, creating custom agents/skills, and reviewing AI output thoroughly.

• Familiarity with Confluence/Jira-driven engineering workflows.

• Proven track record of guiding and mentoring engineers, making critical architectural decisions, and resolving complex problems under pressure.

• Exceptional ability to communicate intricate technical concepts to non-technical audiences and collaborate effectively with stakeholders.

• Demonstrated proactivity, inspiring leadership, organizational skills, adaptability in agile environments, swift delivery, and a focus on resolving root causes instead of circumventing checks.
