Senior Software Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Develop software for marina operators to effectively manage their businesses.

• Create and sustain the boater application.

• Take ownership of issues from start to finish: including scoping, design, implementation, deployment, and post-deployment results.

• Make significant product and engineering decisions at early stages.

• Collaborate on areas including reservations, payments and financial transactions, dock and slip management, rent roll, boater CRM, service and work orders, accounting integrations, native iOS, and multi-currency.

• Analyze and enhance unfamiliar code in a twelve-year-old system that handles live payment transactions.

• Contribute to decision-making on what features are developed, rather than merely executing pre-defined requirements.

• Work in partnership with product managers, support colleagues, and marina operators.

• Engage in a small, agile engineering team dedicated to delivering high-quality software swiftly.

⛳️ Requirements

• Experience in shipping and owning production web applications, rather than just contributing.

• Demonstrated fluency in real AI applications; projects you accomplished that required this expertise.

• Proficiency across the entire technology stack.

• Capability to read and enhance unfamiliar code without suggesting a complete rewrite.

• Skill in articulating technical trade-offs clearly to a product manager, support colleague, or marina operator.

• Preferred: experience with payments and financial transactions, including Stripe or Stripe Connect, ACH, settlement, reconciliation, and multi-currency.

• Preferred: background in vertical SaaS or B2B software tailored for physical business operators.

• Preferred: involvement in international product development concerning currency, localization, taxation, and compliance.

• Preferred: AWS experience that extends beyond EC2 and S3, encompassing queuing, caching, and large-scale background jobs.

• Preferred: experience in a small team where you were responsible for on-call support for your contributions.
