Senior Software Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Oregon.

📋 Description

• Oversee the design and implementation of secure, scalable, and maintainable software applications.

• Evaluate business processes, user requirements, system workflows, data utilization, and operational needs to determine effective solutions.

• Create full-stack applications that encompass front-end interfaces, back-end services, APIs, databases, integrations, and deployment infrastructure.

• Utilize software architecture principles to select suitable frameworks, patterns, platforms, and technologies.

• Develop and maintain user interfaces utilizing React, JavaScript, TypeScript, HTML, and CSS.

• Design and create back-end services using Node.js, Java, Python, or similar platforms.

• Develop and enhance relational database solutions using PostgreSQL, SQL Server, MySQL, or equivalent systems.

• Integrate third-party platforms, cloud services, AI functionalities, identity services, and enterprise systems.

• Establish coding standards, branching strategies, testing practices, code review expectations, and configuration management processes.

• Design, implement, and sustain CI/CD pipelines and automated deployment procedures.

• Employ infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform and CloudFormation.

• Implement application logging, monitoring, alerting, tracing, and operational dashboards.

• Lead troubleshooting efforts, root-cause analysis, performance enhancement, defect resolution, and production support.

• Oversee system installations, upgrades, migrations, releases, and operational transitions.

• Ensure solutions meet security, privacy, accessibility, usability, reliability, and maintainability standards.

• Generate architecture diagrams, technical specifications, interface documentation, deployment plans, test plans, operating procedures, and support documentation.

• Engage in Agile planning, backlog refinement, sprint execution, demonstrations, retrospectives, and release planning.

• Provide technical estimates, identify risks and dependencies, and communicate delivery status to project and technical leadership.

• Mentor engineers, conduct design and code reviews, and advocate for consistent engineering practices.

• Collaborate with product owners, users, security teams, infrastructure teams, and other stakeholders to resolve issues and deliver business value.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, software engineering, information systems, or a related field; equivalent professional experience may be accepted.

• Seven or more years of progressive experience in software engineering, application development, or a related field.

• Experience in designing and delivering production software across various frameworks or technology stacks.

• Strong full-stack development experience encompassing front-end, back-end, API, database, and integration technologies.

• Proficiency in JavaScript or TypeScript and a modern front-end framework like React, Angular, or Vue.

• Proficiency in one or more back-end languages or platforms such as Node.js, Java, Python, or .NET.

• Understanding of relational database design, SQL, data modeling, query optimization, and data integration.

• Experience with software architecture, design patterns, distributed systems, and enterprise integration.

• Expertise in Git-based code management, automated testing, CI/CD pipelines, and release management.

• Familiarity with cloud platforms, containerization, infrastructure-as-code, and DevOps practices.

• Strong analytical, communication, leadership, troubleshooting, and technical documentation skills.

• Must be a U.S. citizen and successfully pass a governmental-level background check.
