Senior Software Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Design, develop, and deploy full-stack functionalities utilizing Fastify or Express APIs, Next.js and React frontends, MySQL schemas and migrations, SQS-driven workers, and infrastructure.

• Take ownership of production services by ensuring observability with Sentry and Grafana, participating in on-call duties, conducting root-cause analysis for incidents, and implementing follow-up fixes.

• Create and enhance security and monitoring solutions that comprehensively scan, probe, and assess customer infrastructures at scale.

• Sustain and incrementally phase out legacy .NET and Python components by migrating functionalities to the TypeScript platform while ensuring functionality remains consistent.

• Expand CI/CD processes and infrastructure using Azure DevOps pipelines, Docker images, Helm charts, and Terraform for EKS, RDS, SQS, and affiliated AWS services.

• Integrate third-party and partner APIs, such as certificate authorities, scanners, and identity providers.

• Employ AI-assisted development tools and create product features supported by AI.

• Conduct code reviews, write tests, and elevate standards for both human- and AI-generated code.

• Guide engineers and document technical decisions made throughout the project lifecycle.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 6 years of experience in building and managing production web services and their associated frontends.

• Proficient in TypeScript and Node.js, with experience in a modern API framework (Fastify preferred, Express acceptable) and a React framework (Next.js preferred).

• Practical experience in multiple programming languages or ecosystems, with at least one stack transition undertaken or adapted in recent years.

• Strong relational database expertise in MySQL or Postgres, including schema design, migrations, indexing, query performance, and transaction and locking behaviors.

• Familiarity with logging, metrics, alerting, and evidence-based production debugging.

• Awareness of security practices, including authentication and authorization flows, secrets management, input validation, and dependency hygiene.

• Ability to communicate clearly in writing to convey designs, trade-offs, and incidents to both technical and non-technical audiences.
