Senior Software Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.

📋 Description

• Create and improve runtime security functionalities for a Windows-based endpoint agent.

• Design and develop systems-level endpoint security and monitoring features utilizing Go, C, and C++.

• Engage in architecture, design, and implementation discussions alongside senior engineers and architects.

• Create software using Windows system programming interfaces, such as Win32 APIs, File I/O, and Winsock.

• Examine Windows platform behavior, APIs, and the interactions between user-mode and kernel-mode components.

• Build multi-threaded and multi-process applications, as well as system-level software.

• Debug and resolve intricate implementation challenges and conduct code reviews.

• Analyze and enhance feature performance for optimal endpoint functionality.

• Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to convert runtime security requirements into dependable software solutions.

• Contribute to cross-platform security functionalities that encompass both Windows and Linux environments.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree with 5+ years of software development experience, or a Master's degree with 4+ years of software development experience.

• Proficiency in systems programming with C or C++, including development of multi-threaded and multi-process applications.

• 2+ years of experience in operating system fundamentals, covering threads, processes, file systems, networking, and inter-process communication.

• Familiarity with Windows system programming, including Win32 APIs, File I/O, Winsock, and understanding of API hooking concepts.

• Experience in debugging and troubleshooting complex software systems.

• Preferred: Knowledge of Windows kernel concepts and interactions between user-mode and kernel-mode.

• Preferred: Experience in developing endpoint security, cybersecurity, or system-monitoring software.

• Preferred: Background in Windows kernel programming, driver development, or low-level Windows internals.

• Preferred: Understanding of malware detection techniques, endpoint protection technologies, or security monitoring concepts.

• Preferred: Experience in network programming and security-related protocols.

• Preferred: Proven experience in implementing complex systems-level software features in production settings.

• Preferred: Experience in analyzing and optimizing performance for systems-level or endpoint software.

• Preferred: Previous collaboration with senior engineers and architects on software architecture and technical design decisions.
