Senior Software Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Alabama, +45 more states.

📋 Description

• Create and improve runtime security features for a Windows-based endpoint agent.

• Design and implement systems-level security and monitoring functionalities using Go, C, and C++.

• Engage in architecture, design, and implementation discussions alongside senior engineers and architects.

• Develop software utilizing Windows system programming interfaces, such as Win32 APIs, File I/O, and Winsock.

• Examine the behavior of the Windows platform, APIs, and interactions between user-mode and kernel-mode.

• Create multi-threaded and multi-process applications and system-level software.

• Troubleshoot and resolve intricate implementation issues.

• Conduct code reviews to enhance software quality.

• Analyze and optimize feature performance for effective endpoint operation.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to convert runtime security requirements into dependable software solutions.

• Contribute to cross-platform security capabilities across Windows and Linux environments.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree with over 5 years of software development experience, or a Master's degree with over 4 years of software development experience.

• Proficient in systems programming using C or C++.

• Experience in developing multi-threaded and multi-process applications.

• More than 2 years of experience with operating system fundamentals, including threads, processes, file systems, networking, and inter-process communication.

• Familiarity with Windows system programming, including Win32 APIs, File I/O, and Winsock.

• Understanding of API hooking concepts.

• Skilled in debugging and troubleshooting complex software systems.

• Preferred understanding of Windows kernel concepts and user-mode/kernel-mode interaction.

• Preferred experience in developing endpoint security, cybersecurity, or system-monitoring software.

• Preferred background in Windows kernel programming, driver development, or low-level Windows internals.

• Preferred familiarity with malware detection, endpoint protection, or security monitoring concepts.

• Preferred experience with network programming and security-related protocols.

• Preferred experience in implementing complex systems-level software features in production environments.

• Preferred experience analyzing and optimizing systems-level or endpoint software performance.

• Preferred experience collaborating with senior engineers and architects on architecture and technical design decisions.
