Senior Software Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Utah.

📋 Description

• Develop and enhance full-stack applications utilizing Java/Spring Boot, Node.js, Vue.js, and TypeScript.

• Assist in the phased transition from Vue to React.

• Leverage AI coding tools and precise specifications to expedite development while ensuring quality.

• Create scalable microservices, RESTful APIs, and Kafka-based event-driven integrations.

• Integrate systems with Salesforce.

• Deploy containerized applications to AWS and Kubernetes via GitHub Actions CI/CD pipelines.

• Design and uphold automated unit, integration, and end-to-end tests.

• Collaborate with the Staff Engineer, engineering team, product managers, designers, support teams, and business stakeholders.

• Engage in design, planning, and code reviews.

• Ensure legacy services remain reliable during modernization.

• Mentor engineers through code reviews, shared best practices, architecture discussions, and team presentations.

• Report to the Senior Manager of Engineering.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.

• Over 5 years of practical, professional full-stack software engineering experience.

• Proficiency in Java and Spring Boot, along with JavaScript, TypeScript, and Node.js.

• Front-end expertise with Vue.js and/or React.

• Experience in designing and utilizing RESTful microservices and event-driven systems.

• Strong SQL abilities and relational database experience, preferably with PostgreSQL.

• Practical experience with Git, CI/CD, AWS, containers, and Kubernetes.

• Proficiency in writing well-tested code using JUnit, Jest, and end-to-end tests.

• Hands-on experience with AI coding assistants such as Claude Code for designing, building, testing, and documenting software.

• Good judgment when reviewing AI-generated code.

• Familiarity with extending AI coding assistants via skills and MCP connections.

• Effective communication skills and a genuine interest in educating others.

• Team-oriented mindset, readiness to seek help early, accept feedback, and honor commitments.
