Senior Software Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Colorado.

📋 Description

• Actively participate in the development of production code for the encoding stack (Java/Kotlin, C++) as a key member of the Encoding team's sprints.

• Take technical ownership of our US enterprise accounts during EU off-hours: manage and resolve encoding issues, ensuring incidents are addressed or smoothly handed over.

• Troubleshoot live, distributed systems under real customer pressure: conduct log analysis, diagnose errors, analyze network traces, and reproduce issues with minimal information.

• Travel to customer locations to assist with integrations, conduct technical workshops, and address escalations.

• Incorporate insights gained in the field into sprint planning and the product roadmap.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 5 years of software engineering experience at a senior level, proficient in Java or C++, capable of contributing production code during the encoding team's sprints.

• At least 2 years in a customer-facing technical role (solutions architecture, professional services, forward deployment, or named-account support).

• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS and/or GCP), Docker, and practical experience running and debugging scalable distributed services.

• Proven ability to troubleshoot live customer systems: perform log analysis, diagnose errors, analyze network traces, and reproduce issues from limited data.

• Willingness to embrace AI-assisted development workflows and familiarity with AI tools such as Claude Code.

• Exceptional written and verbal English skills, with a proven ability to communicate effectively with enterprise engineering teams.

• High level of autonomy: capable of managing issues independently during US hours while the EU team is offline, exercising sound judgment on when to escalate versus resolve.

• Must be located on the US East Coast or in Denver, with a willingness to travel to customer sites regularly.
