Senior Software Engineer – Applied AI

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Washington.

📋 Description

• Develop and troubleshoot code within a live, real-time voice pipeline where latency and accuracy are critical from the user's perspective.

• Create control systems for LLMs, including guardrails, budgets, watchdogs, and secure fallback mechanisms.

• Construct and manage LLM evaluation and batch-analysis pipelines.

• Oversee traditional ML workflows from data acquisition to scheduled production inference.

• Investigate production issues from metric anomalies to their root causes, including compiling evidence when the issue is vendor-related.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 7 years of experience in building and managing production backend systems, with proficient general-purpose programming skills (primarily in Python).

• Proven experience in operating distributed systems in the cloud; adept at debugging from telemetry to root cause analysis.

• Practical experience in production with LLMs or generative AI (regardless of provider or framework), along with the discernment to know when a model should not be employed.

• Familiarity with the entire traditional machine learning lifecycle (you execute productionization; publication is not required).

• Methodical approach in a regulated environment: small, reviewable changes and meticulous management of sensitive data.
