This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Develop large-scale solutions that are high-performing, scalable, maintainable, and secure, with minimal need for rework after receiving feedback.
• Identify and mitigate technical health risks present in systems.
• Facilitate squad discussions and reviews to ensure the production of high-quality designs and architectural choices.
• Offer technical mentorship and guidance to engineers regarding best practices, design patterns, and coding standards.
• Take ownership of health and reliability issues for squad systems by establishing metrics such as KPIs and SLOs.
• Design and maintain effective monitoring and alerting systems to enable quick detection of production issues during feature delivery.
• Balance the development of new features with the need to address operational risks and technical debt.
• Collaborate closely with other engineering teams to ensure smooth integration across mobile platforms, backend services, and shared systems.
• Contribute to the team and platform vision as a technical leader by identifying strategic technologies and investments to enhance security, scalability, reliability, and performance.
• Lead initiatives to refine workflows, processes, or tools within the squad to boost performance.
• Coach and guide less experienced squad members in best practices while promoting a culture of collaboration.
• Spot inefficiencies in squad practices and propose actionable solutions to address them.
• Participate in our technical advisory group to provide guidance and feedback on critical technical decisions.
• Conduct code reviews and participate in knowledge-sharing activities within the team.
• Identify performance bottlenecks and suggest improvements to enhance app performance, responsiveness, and reliability.
• Stay informed about industry trends, technologies, and best practices, proposing innovative solutions to enhance the platform.
• Over 6 years of experience as a software engineer, delivering production-ready consumer-facing code.
• Proficient in native mobile development technologies, including Swift and Kotlin.
• Experience with React Native is advantageous.
• Familiarity with GraphQL and modern API patterns in mobile development.
• Knowledge of leveraging AI-assisted development tools (e.g., Copilot, Claude, Cursor) to expedite delivery.
• Proven track record in creating high-performing, elegant user experiences in mobile applications.
• Strong problem-solving abilities coupled with critical and strategic thinking skills.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills, enabling effective teamwork across different teams.
• Able to prioritize multiple projects effectively to achieve goals without requiring management supervision.
