This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Design, construct, and manage scalable services that support U.S. marketplace workflows such as Buy Now, 45M, Simulcast, and DealerBlock.
• Create APIs and backend services on a contemporary, cloud-native, AI-empowered platform.
• Integrate AI-driven functionalities into marketplace features, including pricing strategies, negotiation workflows, and process automation.
• Utilize AI tools to enhance coding, testing, debugging, and documentation while exercising sound engineering judgment.
• Collaborate with Product teams to convert business requirements into robust, scalable technical solutions.
• Engage in on-call rotations and provide support for live production systems.
• Enhance system reliability, performance, security, and monitoring capabilities.
• Contribute to the technical roadmap, engineering standards, and the long-term evolution of the platform.
• Work closely with Product Managers, Data Engineers, Infrastructure, and Site Reliability Engineering teams on a daily basis.
• Implement AI-assisted coding, refactoring, test coverage, validation, debugging, root-cause analysis, documentation, and knowledge sharing efforts.
• Over 5 years of experience in developing and maintaining production software systems.
• A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical discipline (or equivalent practical experience).
• Proven experience in building and supporting production software systems.
• Proficiency in backend development using Java, Kotlin, Go, Python, .NET, Ruby, or similar languages.
• Strong grasp of APIs, distributed systems, and cloud-native architecture.
• Comfortable working within modern CI/CD frameworks.
• Experience with observability, monitoring, and incident response frameworks.
• Capability to take ownership of features and systems from start to finish.
• Active engagement with AI development tools, such as code copilots, AI debuggers, and test generators.
• Ability to critically assess AI outputs.
• Keen interest in applying AI to real-world customer and business challenges.
• Willingness to learn and adapt in a rapidly evolving tool landscape.
• Frontend experience with React and TypeScript is advantageous.
• Familiarity with AWS or comparable cloud platforms is beneficial.
• Experience with microservices and event-driven architectures is a plus.
• Proficiency in SQL and data-driven applications is a plus.
• Experience in marketplace, e-commerce, or high-volume transaction systems is a plus.
• Background in reliability engineering or site reliability engineering (SRE) is a plus.
• Experience in modernizing or migrating legacy systems is a plus.
