This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Finland.
• Implement significant features and architectural enhancements throughout the Add-ons stack, which includes automated moderation pipelines, Reviewer tools, and DevHub.
• Set and uphold engineering standards for code reviews, production readiness, runbooks, incident response, on-call practices, coding conventions, and infrastructure as code.
• Develop comprehensive observability systems and data-driven insights.
• Offer peer feedback, disseminate knowledge, and assist others in their professional growth.
• Construct and enhance systems that facilitate safe development, deployment, monitoring, and operation of production services.
• Optimize CI/CD pipelines through declarative, pipeline-as-code methodologies.
• Deliver work in iterative phases using visible backlogs, short feedback loops, retrospectives, and stakeholder demonstrations.
• Produce technical documentation, including design notes, Architecture Decision Records, runbooks, and incident reports.
• Trace requests and asynchronous jobs throughout unfamiliar codebases to identify failures and suggest enhancements.
• Collaborate with designers, product managers, QA, and community contributors.
• Participate through pull requests, code reviews, and active discussions.
• Engage in the development of submission flows, trust and safety signals, modernization of DevHub and Reviewer tools, AMO application systems, internal developer platforms, team processes, engineering standards, deployments, monitoring, and incident response.
• Proven hands-on experience in building and maintaining production applications using Python/Django.
• Experience in managing and enhancing production software systems where reliability and safe delivery are crucial.
• Strong familiarity with CI/CD systems and the practice of treating pipelines and infrastructure as code in a declarative manner.
• Experience in designing or refining automated testing and deployment workflows, including integration testing and staged or progressive delivery.
• Deep understanding of observability concepts, including metrics, logging, tracing, service-level objectives, and actionable alerting.
• Experience in building or maintaining internal tools or platforms utilized by other engineering teams.
• Experience in defining or enhancing engineering practices such as code review standards, operational readiness, runbooks, incident response, on-call expectations, or definitions of done.
• Ability to comprehend unfamiliar codebases and trace application behavior across frontend, backend, asynchronous jobs, data stores, and infrastructure.
• Experience in debugging intricate production issues and converting findings into sustainable system enhancements.
• Strong technical writing skills, encompassing design documents, ADRs, runbooks, and incident reports.
• Experience working iteratively with a transparent backlog, stakeholder input, and retrospectives.
• Excellent collaboration and communication abilities in a distributed team setting.
