Senior Software Engineer, Adaptive Classification Team

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Collaborate with the Engineering Manager and Product Manager to establish the roadmap for the ACT team.

• Lead and design Software Projects vital to Abnormal’s success, guiding a team of engineers through the stages of conception, design, implementation, launch, and operation.

• Provide mentorship and guidance to junior team members.

• Work alongside Technical Program Managers, Product Managers, and Go-To-Market teams to implement, verify, and iterate on customer issues and requests.

• Elevate engineering excellence by actively contributing to knowledge sharing within the team and engaging in professional development initiatives.

• Progress into a tech lead role for the AI Security Mailbox product.

• Take ownership of critical deliverables from end-to-end within our division's quarterly roadmap and manage a subset of key divisional SLAs/SLOs.

• Enhance team efficiency by architecting and managing AI-native workflows to reduce team toil.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Applied Sciences, Information Systems, or another relevant engineering discipline.

• Over 5 years of industry experience in backend web development and distributed systems, with a focus on designing and building software applications.

• Proven ability to work both independently and collaboratively within teams.

• Experience in working with distributed teams and strong proficiency in asynchronous and written communication.

• Skilled in building features and components from the ground up and managing their operation, while balancing feature development with operational tasks.

• Expertise in Python and/or Go.

• Strong advocate for AI tools such as Cursor, Claude, and other AI-native workflows.
