Senior Software Engineer, Accounting Experience

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Latin America.

📋 Description

• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to enhance and sustain software solutions for financial operations.

• Engage in the complete software development lifecycle, from conceptualization through to deployment.

• Develop new features and products as part of a cohesive engineering team.

• Utilize accounting knowledge to pinpoint gaps and enhance automation and reconciliation processes.

• Assess and implement software tools, methodologies, and performance metrics.

• Offer support and consultancy regarding the use of software systems.

• Ensure adherence to project timelines and compliance with industry regulations.

• Design software applications and features utilizing Golang.

• Create reports and automations leveraging Python and SQL.

• Assist in developing distributed architecture and crafting scalable solutions.

• Collaborate with internal stakeholders to design market-leading products.

• Generate and gather metrics to foster ongoing improvement.

• Deliver high-quality, testable features that conform to reporting and compliance standards.

• Mentor engineering colleagues.

• Design, develop, and refine systems that support financial reporting, reconciliation, and automation workflows.

• Collaborate with Accounting and Finance teams to ensure data integrity and establish auditable systems.

• Define technical direction and take ownership of projects.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 7 years of experience in full-stack software engineering.

• Proven ability to generate new ideas and build consensus on future directions.

• Experience in constructing and serving REST APIs using Go, Java, Python, or a comparable language.

• Demonstrated experience with Claude or similar large language model tools; adept at utilizing AI to enhance productivity, research, and communication.

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field.

• Previous experience as an accountant or financial analyst is preferred.

• Strong understanding of financial operations, including reconciliation, reporting, and compliance, is preferred.

• Experience within banking or financial institutions is an advantage.

• Proficiency in multiple programming languages such as Python, Java, and Go.

• Experience with MySQL or PostgreSQL.

• Familiarity with software engineering tools, development methodologies, and release processes.

• Knowledge of Prometheus, NewRelic, or Datadog.

• Experience with containerized microservice architecture deployed on Kubernetes in AWS.

• A proven track record of delivering commercial APIs and web applications.

• Familiarity with Golang, TypeScript, Python, React, React Native, MySQL, PostgreSQL, Elasticsearch, AWS, Kubernetes, Git, GitLab, and automated testing.
