Senior Software Development Engineer – Labs

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in India.

📋 Description

• Take ownership and actively contribute to the architecture, design, and development of Feature Flags, Staged Rollouts, and Customer Feedback within the Labs platform.

• Create and develop scalable backend services, APIs, and integrations connecting internal microservices with third-party platforms such as Statsig.

• Develop high-performance frontend experiences for managing feature flags, configuring rollouts, and collecting feedback.

• Influence technical decisions, assess risks and trade-offs, and manage complex features from the design phase to production.

• Leverage AI-driven development methodologies and AI-assisted tools to enhance development, testing, debugging, and refactoring processes.

• Design data models along with efficient queries and caching strategies using MongoDB and Redis.

• Engage in the entire Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), which includes requirements analysis, design, implementation, deployment, monitoring, and production support.

• Produce clean, efficient, secure, and testable code that includes unit and integration test coverage.

• Establish and maintain observability through logging, metrics, monitoring, and tracing.

• Engage in code reviews, technical design discussions, incident resolution, and operational support, including on-call responsibilities when necessary.

• Collaborate with Product Managers, Designers, and Engineering teams to convert business requirements into scalable technical solutions.

• Adhere to best practices regarding security, scalability, maintainability, testing, documentation, and production readiness.

⛳️ Requirements

• Minimum of 4 years of hands-on software engineering experience in building and scaling robust backend systems and high-performance frontend applications.

• Proficient backend engineering skills with Node.js, TypeScript, API development, data modeling, and system design.

• Experience with NestJS is a plus.

• Solid understanding of RESTful API design, microservices architecture, distributed systems, and inter-service communication.

• Practical experience with MongoDB and Redis, encompassing data modeling, query design, and performance tuning.

• Familiarity with event-driven architectures and messaging systems such as GCP Pub/Sub, Kafka, RabbitMQ, or similar technologies.

• Exposure to AI/LLM application development, including LLM API integration, prompt/context design, or AI-assisted product workflows.

• Frontend development experience with Vue.js, React, or Angular; Vue.js is preferred.

• Knowledge of component-driven architecture and modern CSS frameworks like Tailwind CSS or Bootstrap.

• Experience with frontend state management patterns and libraries such as Vuex/Pinia, Redux, MobX, or similar.

• Understanding of production observability and debugging, which includes logging, monitoring, tracing, error tracking, and performance profiling.

• Familiarity with modern SDLC practices, Agile methodologies, Git workflows, automated testing, and CI/CD pipelines.

• Knowledge of ClickHouse and Elasticsearch.

• Familiarity with AI-assisted development tools such as Cursor, Claude Code, GitHub Copilot, or similar solutions.

• Strong problem-solving and debugging capabilities across frontend, backend, databases, integrations, and distributed services.

• Exceptional communication and collaboration skills across various functions.

• Ability to lead technical discussions, evaluate engineering trade-offs, and mentor fellow engineers.

• Proactive ownership mindset with the capacity to independently tackle complex engineering challenges.
