Senior Software Developer – AI Agents, Systems Design

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.

📋 Description

• Create, develop, and sustain high-quality SaaS applications that incorporate AI agents and tools as integral components of the workflow.

• Utilize agentic systems to automate tasks such as scaffolding, refactoring, test generation, code reviews, and documentation.

• Construct and maintain MCP servers that facilitate connections between AI systems and codebases, APIs, databases, and internal tools.

• Design and oversee knowledge repositories, vector databases, retrieval pipelines, and embeddings to ensure reliable domain-specific AI grounding.

• Implement AI tools throughout the entire software development lifecycle, from drafting architecture and analyzing requirements to execution, testing, and deployment.

• Take ownership of architectural decisions from start to finish, including defining service boundaries, API contracts, data models, and integration patterns.

• Document architectural tradeoffs and design considerations for observability, reliability, and fault tolerance.

• Identify and mitigate structural technical debt.

• Develop backend services, APIs, and data models for scalable line-of-business SaaS applications.

• Guarantee system performance, reliability, and security.

• Convert operational business requirements into well-architected software solutions.

⛳️ Requirements

• Extensive senior-level software development experience, including ownership of architectural decisions and designing systems from the ground up.

• Demonstrated, hands-on experience in building with AI agents in a production environment, utilizing LLMs for planning, tool usage, and executing multi-step tasks reliably.

• Practical experience in constructing or utilizing MCPs (Model Context Protocol) to link AI models with tools, APIs, codebases, or data sources.

• Proficient in designing and maintaining knowledge repositories, including RAG pipelines, vector databases, and embedding strategies.

• Experience with AI coding tools such as Cursor, Claude Code, or GitHub Copilot as a systematic part of the development process.

• Strong backend development capabilities and experience in deploying production SaaS applications.

• Background in designing APIs, data models, and service integrations utilized by other developers.
