Senior Software Application Developer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.

📋 Description

• Take charge of the architecture and technical strategy for significant platform capabilities.

• Create and enhance scalable APIs, distributed services, and data flows utilizing TypeScript, Node.js, Redis, OpenSearch, PostgreSQL, and event-driven methodologies.

• Spearhead the engineering of AI-enhanced product features, including LLM integrations, retrieval and evaluation pipelines, orchestration, tool utilization, and human-in-the-loop controls.

• Implement agentic SDLC practices focused on specification-driven development, AI-assisted design and execution, automated test generation, code review facilitation, release validation, and incident analysis.

• Develop evaluation and guardrail systems for AI-assisted and agentic workflows.

• Establish production-readiness standards for AWS services and cloud-native architecture.

• Champion secure-by-design implementation, incorporating OWASP-aligned practices, tenant isolation, data protection, secrets management, access control, and compliance-aware engineering.

• Lead cross-team initiatives from technical exploration to deployment.

• Enhance engineering excellence through architecture assessments, code reviews, automated testing, CI/CD quality checkpoints, reliability practices, and comprehensive documentation.

• Guide engineers and contribute to shaping technical roadmaps, recruitment, and engineering operational practices.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related discipline, or equivalent professional experience.

• More than 10 years of software engineering experience, with significant involvement in designing and managing large-scale, customer-facing SaaS solutions.

• Proven technical leadership across teams.

• Extensive expertise in TypeScript, Node.js, SQL, API design, distributed systems, and practical system architecture.

• Experience in developing or managing AI-enabled software in a production environment, encompassing LLM application patterns, RAG or retrieval systems, tool invocation or workflow orchestration, evaluation, monitoring, and risk management.

• Proficient in utilizing and enhancing AI-native or agentic SDLC workflows while ensuring human review, test coverage, security measures, and accountable engineering ownership.

• Familiarity with Docker or container platforms, GitHub, CI/CD, observability, and cloud security practices.

• Specialized knowledge in event-driven architecture, multi-tenancy, performance, reliability, and security.

• Outstanding written and verbal communication skills.

• A coaching-oriented mindset with a proven history of enhancing team effectiveness through mentoring, standards, and collaborative technical leadership.
