Senior Site Reliability Engineer – Server Enablement, Qualification

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Poland.

📋 Description

• Responsible for developing, testing, and distributing modifications to the software, services, and tools managed by the VHP team.

• Tasked with designing and implementing improvements to the VHP observability infrastructure to proactively identify and resolve issues before they affect our customers.

• Expected to cultivate subject matter expertise in VHP components.

• Must be adept at working with new tools, code, and environments while automating feasible processes.

• Collaborate with our support, operations, and engineering teams to investigate and resolve complex issues.

• Participate in on-call rotations, leading the restoration and repair of service-affecting problems.

⛳️ Requirements

• Extensive experience with Linux internals, system administration, and a comprehensive understanding of the underlying hardware.

• Advanced proficiency with the Linux kernel and operating system, along with knowledge of virtualization technologies (KVM/QEMU).

• Proven expertise in designing, developing, and deploying software and infrastructure at scale.

• Ability to determine whether hardware-test failures stem from firmware, BIOS/UEFI settings, device firmware, kernel/driver behavior, or the physical testing environment.

• Proficient in using Python and shell scripting to autonomously implement solutions.

• Significant experience in a Development or SRE role, ideally with large-scale distributed systems.

• Familiarity with tools such as SaltStack, Ansible, Chef, or Puppet for managing infrastructure on a large scale.

• Strong communication and teamwork skills.

• Relevant experience and a Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
