This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California, +1 more state.
• Lead investigations into intricate settlement issues from initiation to resolution, ensuring a balance between financial accuracy, operational risk, and partner experience.
• Investigate and resolve payment discrepancies, adjustments, refunds, chargebacks, reconciliation challenges, and account-level inquiries.
• Utilize transaction data through dashboards, spreadsheets, SQL, and internal tools to identify root causes and substantiate findings.
• Collaborate across departments such as Finance, Product, Engineering, Support, and Account Management to address issues and implement sustainable improvements.
• Communicate directly with merchants and external partners via email, Zoom, and, when necessary, phone to investigate concerns and facilitate resolutions.
• Discover opportunities to automate, simplify, and enhance operational workflows, documentation, and internal processes.
• Utilize AI tools to expedite investigations, analyze data, enhance documentation, draft communications, and boost operational efficiency.
• Assist in reconciliation, reporting, audits, and other operational initiatives as required.
• A minimum of 4 years of experience in settlement operations, payments, fintech, finance operations, merchant services, reconciliation, or a similar analytical operations position.
• Outstanding analytical and investigative abilities, capable of identifying root causes, synthesizing data, and making informed decisions.
• Advanced skills in Excel or Google Sheets, with experience in working with dashboards and transaction-level data; SQL proficiency is highly preferred.
• Comfortable integrating AI into your daily tasks—not just for writing and communication, but also for data analysis, expediting investigations, automating repetitive tasks, summarizing findings, and enhancing operational efficiency.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the capacity to articulate complex issues clearly to both internal stakeholders and external partners.
• Strong attention to detail, solid operational judgment, and the ability to juggle multiple priorities without compromising quality.
• A mindset focused on continuous improvement, with a proven history of optimizing processes, minimizing manual work, and promoting operational excellence.
• Experience with Zendesk, Metabase, or discount programs is highly preferred.
