Senior Security Engineer, Incident Response

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California, +5 more states.

📋 Description

• Lead and assist in the response to all security events and incidents within Twilio’s intricate global infrastructure, services, and applications.

• Be accountable for documenting incidents and projects you are involved in, and develop best practices as runbooks and standard operating procedures to disseminate knowledge across teams.

• Collaborate cross-functionally to comprehend and address challenges related to a wide range of threat actors and activities.

• Strive to enhance Twilio’s security and reliability stance by implementing improvements identified from security events and incidents.

• Quickly acquire new technical skills and knowledge in a dynamic and rapidly evolving industry landscape.

• Manage the security incident lifecycle, respond to incidents, participate in on-call rotations, and contribute to root cause analyses for security incidents.

• Establish, nurture, and sustain constructive relationships with internal stakeholders to identify and promote solutions that amplify the effectiveness of the team’s efforts.

• Offer mentorship, support, and care for the team in a manner that fosters long-term career growth, satisfaction, and success at scale.


⛳️ Requirements

• Proven experience of over 5 years in security incident response within a production-cloud setting.

• Subject matter expert in security concerns and technologies.

• Capability to leverage AI for thorough and complex security incident response activities, ensuring high fidelity detections.

• Advanced understanding of service-oriented architectures, along with experience using security tools and technologies suitable for a cloud environment.

• Hands-on experience tackling difficult security challenges and initiatives across a technology stack.

• Familiarity with SIEM platforms and the ability to enhance their functionalities.

• Experience with SOAR tools and automating manual security processes.

• Proficiency in either AWS, GCP, or another large cloud platform.

• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.

• Ability to influence and cultivate effective working relationships at all levels of the organization.
