This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Take charge of the design, implementation, and prioritization of Qventus' cloud and data security engineering initiatives.
• Work collaboratively with teams to automate security guardrails, focusing on facilitation rather than restriction.
• Understand the locations of our sensitive data and create controls to ensure secure access verification.
• Collaborate with engineering teams to ensure that security is comprehended and embraced, not merely enforced.
• Proven ability to advance complex and ambiguous projects collaboratively across teams while effectively communicating challenges and trade-offs.
• Foundational understanding of cloud security principles, including threat models, IAM, networking, encryption, access controls, phishing, and misconfiguration risks.
• Proficient with various categories of cloud and data security tools, such as CNAPP / CSPM (e.g., Orca, Wiz, Upwind), DSPM, CIEM, or SSPM.
• Comfortable with automation and scripting in languages like Python, Go, or Bash, along with the ability to document and implement policies using these tools.
• Experience in applying policy-as-code and integrating it into development workflows, including CI/CD, Kubernetes (via OPA), or other infrastructure-as-code tools.
• Knowledgeable in securing containerized workloads within Kubernetes environments.
• Demonstrated experience managing regulated data (HIPAA) on cloud data platforms such as Databricks or Snowflake.
