Senior Security Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom, +6 more countries.

📋 Description

• Conduct security assessments and threat modeling on product features and systems.

• Transform security findings into concise, actionable recommendations.

• Plan and execute security projects from the design phase through to implementation.

• Develop tools and automation to streamline future reviews, making them quicker and more cost-effective.

• Organize penetration testing and oversee the remediation process until completion.

• Assist with ongoing SOC2 and PCI compliance efforts, which include collecting evidence and tracking remediation.

• Contribute to the AppSec roadmap initiatives focused on application threats, AI security, supply chain security, and ASPM.

• Engage in proactive security measures, threat research, and practical investigations.

• Collaborate with Cloud, Infrastructure, and GRC teams regarding security aspects of projects.

• Help define Primer's product security strategy and architecture.

• Collaborate with engineering teams involved in developing payments infrastructure and products.

⛳️ Requirements

• Proven experience in product or application security.

• Experience with conducting security reviews or threat modeling.

• Proficient in reading and writing code.

• Capability to create small tools and automation solutions.

• Strong judgment regarding risk assessment.

• Ability to independently plan and execute tasks.

• Awareness of when to seek assistance from senior engineers.

• Effective communication skills with non-security-specialist engineers.

• Familiarity with SOC2 or PCI compliance frameworks is a plus.

• Experience in payments, fintech, or other regulated, high-stakes environments is advantageous.

• Interest in supply chain security, detection engineering, or AI security is beneficial.

• Candidates must be located in the United Kingdom, Hungary, Poland, South Africa, Portugal, Ireland, or Romania.
