Senior Security Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Colorado.

📋 Description

• Design, implement, enhance, and assist in the operationalization of security controls throughout the organization.

• Collaborate with leadership to advance cybersecurity capabilities and support the long-term security architecture.

• Lead or participate in security initiatives across essential domains, which include:

• Identity and access management

• Endpoint security

• Network & cloud security

• Data security

• Vulnerability and exposure management

• Logging, detection, and response enablement

• Assess the existing security controls, identify deficiencies, and propose practical, risk-based enhancements.

• Assist in defining and documenting security standards, architectural patterns, design choices, and implementation guidance.

• Support the implementation, integration, tuning, and lifecycle management of security technologies across the entire stack.

• Collaborate cross-functionally with both technical and non-technical stakeholders to ensure that security controls are effective, scalable, and aligned with business objectives.

• Help establish repeatable processes, technical standards, and a robust engineering discipline throughout the security program.

• Foster a security culture that is collaborative, pragmatic, and focused on enabling the business while minimizing risk.


⛳️ Requirements

• Extensive hands-on experience in security engineering, including the implementation, administration, and enhancement of security controls.

• Comprehensive experience across a wide range of security domains.

• Proven experience in implementing and supporting security tools and controls, rather than merely advising on them.

• Ability to transition between tactical engineering tasks and strategic architectural considerations.

• Interest in architecture, with experience in technical design, documentation, standards, or best practice development.

• Strong judgment in balancing security risks, business requirements, and practical execution.

• Experience in environments where security is still developing is highly valued.
