Senior Security Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.

📋 Description

• Execute hypothesis-driven threat hunts across endpoint, network, identity, and cloud telemetry utilizing frameworks like MITRE ATT&CK.

• Evaluate log and event data from SIEM, EDR, NetFlow, DNS, and cloud audit logs to detect anomalous or malicious behavior.

• Record hunt methodologies, findings, and results in a structured and repeatable manner.

• Assist in incident response investigations by performing in-depth analysis when hunts reveal confirmed threats.

• Keep abreast of emerging TTPs, malware families, and threat actor campaigns pertinent to the organization’s industry and threat landscape.

• Work collaboratively with Detection Engineering, Security Data Analytics, and Incident Response teams.

• Enhance the detection engineering program and advance the organization’s overall security posture.

• Discover, document, and operationalize findings throughout a contemporary security stack.


⛳️ Requirements

• Over 5 years of experience in threat hunting, detection engineering, incident response, or SOC analysis.

• In-depth knowledge of attacker TTPs and the MITRE ATT&CK framework.

• Practical experience with SIEM platforms such as Chronicle/GCP SecOps and Splunk.

• Familiarity with EDR tools like CrowdStrike.

• Proficient in KQL, SPL, YARA-L, or similar query languages.

• Competency in Python scripting for data analysis and automation purposes.

• Solid understanding of networking, Windows/Linux operating systems, and cloud environments such as AWS, GCP, or Azure.

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution or equivalent professional experience.

• Alternatively, a High School Diploma/GED along with 4 years of relevant experience.

• Preferred: Experience in regulated industries and knowledge of NIST 800-53 or FTC Safeguards Rule.

• Preferred: Familiarity with Databricks and NiFi data pipelines.

• Preferred: Relevant certifications such as GCFA, GNFA, GCTI, OSCP, or similar.

• Preferred: Experience in contributing to or creating detection content/rules.
