Senior Security Controls Assessor

📋 Description

• Avint is looking for a driven Senior Security Controls Assessor (SCA) to support a vital federal contract.

• The Senior SCA acts as a subject matter expert, conducting thorough and independent assessments of the organization’s most intricate information systems, applications, and cloud infrastructures.

• Functioning as a senior-level individual contributor, this position emphasizes verifying the implementation, accuracy, and efficacy of technical, operational, and management security controls.

• The Senior SCA is responsible for the most challenging, critical, or sensitive system assessments, providing technical mentorship to junior assessors and serving as a primary technical advisor to system owners throughout the Risk Management Framework (RMF) lifecycle.

⛳️ Requirements

• Education:

• · A Bachelor’s degree (BS/BA) or equivalent professional experience is required.

• · Security+ certification is necessary; advanced certifications such as CISSP, CAP, or CASP are preferred.

• Experience:

• · A minimum of 8-10 years of focused experience in cybersecurity, information assurance, or IT auditing is required.

• · At least six (6) years of hands-on experience in conducting security controls assessments for the most complex (C4) systems is necessary.

• Clearance Requirements:

• · Must be a U.S. citizen (no dual citizenship permitted).

• · Must be able to pass a background investigation.

• · Should be able to obtain and maintain DHS Suitability/Entry on Duty (EOD).

• Soft Skills:

• · Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving abilities, along with a high level of technical professional skepticism.

• · Excellent technical writing capabilities, with the skill to clearly document complex technical findings and defend assessment results to stakeholders.

• · Outstanding interpersonal and diplomatic skills, facilitating effective collaboration with system administrators, developers, and management.
