Senior Security Architect – Information Security

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Formulate enterprise security principles, standards, patterns, and reference architectures.

• Convert security objectives, regulatory mandates, and risk tolerance into actionable architecture specifications.

• Collaborate with product, engineering, infrastructure, and operations teams to integrate security into systems.

• Offer architectural guidance across cloud, application, infrastructure, identity, data, and third-party technology landscapes.

• Assess solution designs and implementation strategies to pinpoint risks, evaluate trade-offs, and suggest mitigations.

• Lead initiatives in threat modeling, identity and access management, data protection, logging, monitoring, and operational resilience.

• Establish security architecture for cloud-native, hybrid, and enterprise environments.

• Create security patterns for cloud adoption, infrastructure as code, containerized workloads, APIs, and integration services.

• Analyze security posture, emerging threats, security technologies, vendor solutions, and automation prospects.

• Design enduring controls that meet regulatory, compliance, and audit standards.

• Counsel technology, product, business, risk, compliance, and leadership stakeholders.

• Convey security decisions and interpret complex risks and requirements for both technical and non-technical audiences.

• Reinforce a security-first culture and position security as a facilitator of innovation and responsible growth.

⛳️ Requirements

• A bachelor’s degree in computer science, cybersecurity, or a related discipline—or an equivalent combination of education and pertinent professional experience.

• A minimum of seven years in information security, with at least three years in security architecture or a comparable senior-level security position.

• At least three years of practical experience in cloud security.

• Extensive knowledge in enterprise and cloud security architecture; principles of secure-by-design and secure-by-default; security standards, architecture patterns, and control frameworks; threat modeling and risk assessment; identity and access management; application and API security; security governance and regulatory compliance; and the development of security strategy and technology roadmaps, along with emerging technologies and security capabilities.

• Deep understanding of security risks and threats impacting large, complex systems and networks.

• Experience in designing sustainable controls that adhere to regulatory and compliance requirements, including PCI, SOC, and SOX.

• Familiarity with scripting, programming, automation, and AI-enabled security technologies.

• Capacity to collaborate with engineering, product, IT, risk, compliance, and business teams.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

• Proficiency in translating highly technical information into clear, actionable guidance for stakeholders at all organizational levels.

• Exceptional skills in relationship-building, communication, presentation, and influence.

• Preferred certifications include CISSP, CCSP, AWS Certified Security – Specialty, or Microsoft Certified: Azure Security Engineer Associate.
