Senior Security Analyst

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Germany.

📋 Description

• Evaluate the security posture of insured and potential insured entities across various programs, technologies, controls, and business environments.

• Explore incidents and cyber insurance claims to pinpoint root causes, attack vectors, control deficiencies, and prevention opportunities.

• Provide guidance to clients and security leaders on practical and prioritized enhancements in areas such as architecture, cloud security, data protection, and compliance.

• Convert threat intelligence and observed attacker behaviors into effective detection strategies and actionable security recommendations.

• Collaborate with Product and cross-functional teams to enhance risk models, underwriting strategies, and security-focused applications.

• Monitor evolving practices, regulatory changes, and industry trends to advise Coalition’s customers, processes, and products.

⛳️ Requirements

• 4-6 years of experience in security analysis, blue-team or defensive security, penetration testing, red-team operations, incident response, or a related field.

• In-depth knowledge of network threat lifecycles, attack vectors, exploitation techniques, and attacker TTPs.

• Familiarity with TCP/IP protocols, network analysis, and security applications, including log analysis and network traffic capture evaluation.

• Capability to investigate incidents and claims, identify root causes, and suggest effective preventive or detective controls.

• Knowledge of NIST, ISO, HIPAA, and PCI frameworks and their practical implementations.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, capable of delivering clear recommendations to both technical and executive audiences.

• Adaptable in a fast-paced, dynamic environment where they can contribute to process and product improvements.

• Proficient in written and spoken English and German.

• Experience in analyzing cyber insurance claims or translating security findings into underwriting, rating, or risk-scoring metrics.

• Practical experience with cloud security, security architecture, data protection, or security control assessments.

• Background in threat intelligence and developing detection strategies based on observed attacker behavior.

• Experience advising CISOs or clients on prioritizing security enhancements based on risk, feasibility, and business context.

• Proven ability to create or enhance internal security processes, products, or analytical methodologies.
