Senior SDS Substation Designer 1 – Grid

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Create a 3D Model that will produce the following drawings: General Arrangement, Electrical Equipment Plans, Sections, Electrical Connection Details, Foundation Plans, Grounding Plans, Grounding Details, Conduit and Trench Plans, Conduit Details, Control Building Layout, Control Building Details, Bill of Material, Cable Schedules, and a Shielding Plan.

• Analyze and integrate vendor information into design deliverables.

• Perform walkdowns at client substation sites.

⛳️ Requirements

• An Associate’s Degree in Drafting, a Bachelor's Degree in Engineering Technology, or a high school diploma along with 5 or more years of 3D drafting coursework or related technical experience.

• At least 10 years of experience in preparing 3D substation models and physical design.

• Proficient in working with 3D applications such as AutoCAD, Inventor, P4A, Vault Pro, and SDS.

• Capability to visualize in 3D and layout substation equipment in accordance with client specifications and/or IEEE standards.

• Ability to adhere to CAD standards.

• An Associate’s Degree in Computer Aided Design.

• Familiarity with design techniques, tools, and principles relevant to the production of technical plans, blueprints, drawings, and models.

• Understanding of the practical application of engineering science and technology, including the ability to relate various equipment to technical designs.

• Proficient in using BlueBeam for BOM counts, reviewing, and self-checking drawings.

• Knowledge of AutoCAD Electrical.
