Senior Designer II – Discovery

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Define and spearhead the strategic design vision for intricate, cross-functional initiatives that encompass various product areas, from problem identification to delivery and ongoing iteration.

• Tackle ambiguous, high-stakes design challenges by providing clear direction and framing issues at an organizational level.

• Establish and enhance research strategies that enrich the organization's understanding of shopper behaviors across global markets, synthesizing insights into scalable design frameworks and principles.

• Create outstanding design artifacts — ranging from strategic frameworks and service blueprints to high-fidelity prototypes — that set the benchmark for the design organization.

• Own and manage the design system, facilitating its evolution to ensure scalability, accessibility, and global usability across various product lines and teams.

• Act as a design authority and strategic collaborator with product, engineering, and data science leadership, shaping product roadmaps and organizational priorities.

• Define and maintain high standards for design quality, consistency, and craftsmanship throughout the organization, from conception to implementation.

• Mentor and nurture senior and lead designers, contributing to the advancement of design culture, capabilities, and methodologies across the wider team.

• Identify and promote emerging UX, UI, and e-commerce design practices, advocating for innovation and continuous improvement on an organizational scale.

• Represent the design organization in cross-functional and executive-level discussions, clearly conveying strategic design choices and their business implications.

• An outstanding portfolio showcasing strategic design leadership, transformative UX results, and deep craftsmanship — with clear evidence of cross-organizational impact and measurable business value.

• Proven capability to define and implement design strategies across multiple initiatives concurrently, balancing user needs, business priorities, and organizational complexities.

• Expert-level interaction and visual design skills, with a history of establishing craft standards for teams and organizations.

• Extensive experience in owning and evolving design systems at an enterprise level, including governance, contribution models, and cross-team adoption.

• Advanced proficiency in user-centered design methodologies, mixed-methods research practices, and usability testing, with experience in setting up research programs or organization-wide frameworks.

• Exceptional communication skills and executive presence, with a proven ability to influence product direction and organizational decisions at the VP and executive levels.

• Strong understanding of front-end development principles and the capacity to collaborate effectively with engineering leadership on implementation strategies.

• Comprehensive knowledge of accessibility standards, inclusive design practices, and global usability requirements.

• Significant experience designing for global or multi-market products, with sensitivity to cultural and regional variations.

• High level of accuracy and attention to detail.

• Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
