This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Manage scheduling activities across all divisions and ongoing projects while establishing the scheduling Department for NexGen Contracting.
• Create, oversee, and sustain integrated master project schedules that define engineering, procurement, fabrication, material delivery, commissioning, and construction processes in line with contract specifications and project goals.
• Lead the development of schedules during project planning and execution phases, working closely with engineering, procurement, construction, subcontractors, vendors, and client stakeholders to ensure synchronization with project milestones and deliverables.
• Conduct regular schedule reviews and updates with project teams, subcontractors, equipment suppliers, and client representatives to guarantee schedule accuracy and timely detection of potential issues.
• Evaluate and confirm logical relationships, critical path activities, schedule constraints, and resource needs across intricate industrial construction projects.
• Act as the project scheduling subject matter expert, offering guidance and recommendations to project leadership on schedule strategies, recovery planning, risk mitigation, and opportunities for performance enhancement.
• Utilize advanced scheduling tools, including Primavera P6 and Microsoft Project, to create, maintain, and assess cost-loaded and resource-loaded schedules.
• Direct the implementation and evaluation of Earned Value Management (EVM) systems, integrating schedule and cost performance data to gauge project progress and predict outcomes.
• Prepare and deliver executive-level schedule reports, dashboards, progress analyses, critical path evaluations, and forecast completion scenarios to project management, clients, and senior leadership.
• Conduct schedule risk assessments, what-if analyses, and scenario planning to identify potential scheduling impacts and suggest mitigation and recovery strategies.
• Assist with contract administration by performing schedule analysis, delay evaluations, time impact analyses, extension-of-time requests, and claims documentation when necessary.
• Establish and uphold project scheduling standards, procedures, and best practices across various projects and teams.
• Guide and mentor junior schedulers and project controls personnel, fostering their professional growth and ensuring uniformity in scheduling practices.
• Observe project performance trends and proactively identify both positive and negative impacts on project execution, conveying findings and recommendations to project leadership.
• Conduct regular site visits to verify progress, confirm installed quantities, assess productivity trends, and ensure that schedule updates accurately represent site conditions.
• Create and present visual planning tools, such as look-ahead schedules, schedule simulations, progress curves, dashboards, and sequencing presentations to facilitate project execution and stakeholder communication.
• Generate detailed schedule analyses, variance reports, forecasting models, and impact assessments to aid informed project decision-making.
• Maintain a professional interface with clients, contractors, subcontractors, regulatory agencies, and external stakeholders while advocating for the organization’s best interests.
• Support portfolio-level reporting and provide scheduling oversight for multiple projects when required, ensuring consistency, accuracy, and compliance with organizational project control standards.
• Advocate for and uphold safe work practices during field assessments and project site evaluations.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Project Management, Business, or a related field.
• At least seven (7) years of experience in construction scheduling.
• Experience leading scheduling efforts on large and/or multiple projects.
• Must possess technical proficiency and experience with the latest versions of Microsoft Project and Primavera (P6).
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Demonstrated positive attitude and commitment to customer service excellence.
• Detail-oriented with strong organizational and coordination abilities.
• Proficient in computer use, including Microsoft Office products.
• Ability to thrive in a team-oriented environment.
