Senior Sample Manager, Implementation Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Illinois, +3 more states.

📋 Description

• Configure, customize, implement, and deploy SampleManager LIMS solutions within laboratory settings.

• Act as a technical implementation specialist for SampleManager.

• Convert functional requirements and solution designs into SampleManager configurations and technical executions.

• Design and establish laboratory workflows, master data, business rules, screens, reports, and other functionalities of SampleManager.

• Configure and facilitate integrations with laboratory instruments, enterprise applications, and other systems, including SampleManager Integration Manager.

• Analyze, troubleshoot, and resolve intricate configuration and implementation challenges.

• Assist with data mapping, migration, and validation for LIMS implementations and upgrades.

• Develop and execute unit and system testing while supporting validation and deployment efforts.

• Create technical and configuration documentation.

• Support SampleManager upgrades, enhancements, and modifications to customer environments.

• Estimate technical implementation tasks while identifying dependencies, risks, and potential issues.

• Collaborate with solution architects, business analysts, project managers, technical project leads, QA/validation resources, and implementation engineers.

• Provide technical knowledge transfer and guidance to project teams and clients.

• Contribute to the establishment of implementation standards, reusable configurations, technical best practices, and ongoing improvement initiatives.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, Life Sciences, or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience.

• Over 7 years of experience in implementing, configuring, or supporting LIMS/informatics solutions.

• Extensive hands-on experience with LIMS implementations.

• Strong practical knowledge of Thermo Scientific SampleManager LIMS configuration and implementation is highly preferred.

• Experience in configuring laboratory workflows and customer-specific LIMS functionalities.

• Familiarity with SampleManager Integration Manager, system integrations, and laboratory instrument integrations is highly desirable.

• Experience with relational databases like Oracle, SQL Server, or PostgreSQL.

• Programming or development experience, especially in C#/.NET, is advantageous.

• Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.

• Experience with LIMS upgrades, testing, deployment, data migration, and system validation.

• Understanding of SDLC, Quality Management Systems, and regulated/validated laboratory environments such as GMP, GLP, FDA 21 CFR Part 11, and ISO is preferred.

• Capability to interpret functional requirements and technical specifications and translate them into effective solutions.

• Business analysis, requirements gathering, and functional specification experience is beneficial but not essential.

• Strong technical documentation and communication skills.

• Ability to work independently on complex technical assignments while collaborating within project teams.

• Willingness to learn new technologies and deepen SampleManager expertise.

• Ability to travel as required.
