Senior Sample Manager, Implementation Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.

📋 Description

• Configure, customize, implement, and deploy SampleManager LIMS solutions in diverse laboratory settings.

• Act as a technical implementation specialist for SampleManager.

• Convert functional requirements and solution designs into SampleManager configurations and technical implementations.

• Design and execute laboratory workflows, master data, business rules, screens, reports, and additional SampleManager functionalities.

• Set up and maintain integrations with laboratory instruments, enterprise applications, and other systems, including SampleManager Integration Manager.

• Analyze, troubleshoot, and resolve intricate configuration and implementation challenges.

• Assist with data mapping, migration, and validation efforts for LIMS deployments and upgrades.

• Develop and perform unit and system testing, as well as support validation and deployment processes.

• Create technical and configuration documents, including design specifications and implementation records.

• Aid in SampleManager upgrades, enhancements, and modifications to existing customer environments.

• Estimate technical implementation tasks and identify dependencies, risks, and issues.

• Collaborate with solution architects, business analysts, project managers, technical project leads, QA/validation teams, and implementation engineers.

• Provide technical knowledge transfer and guidance to project teams and clients.

• Contribute to implementation standards, reusable configurations, technical best practices, and ongoing improvement across the SampleManager services organization.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, Life Sciences, or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience.

• Over 7 years of experience in implementing, configuring, or supporting LIMS/informatics solutions.

• Extensive hands-on implementation experience.

• Strong practical knowledge of Thermo Scientific SampleManager LIMS configuration and implementation is highly preferred.

• Proven experience in configuring laboratory workflows and implementing customer-specific LIMS functionalities.

• Experience with SampleManager Integration Manager, system integrations, and laboratory instrument integrations is highly desirable.

• Familiarity with relational databases such as Oracle, SQL Server, or PostgreSQL.

• Programming or development experience, particularly in C#/.NET, is a plus.

• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities for complex configuration, integration, and application issues.

• Experience with LIMS upgrades, testing, deployment, data migration, and system validation.

• Understanding of SDLC, Quality Management Systems, and regulated/validated laboratory environments such as GMP, GLP, FDA 21 CFR Part 11, and ISO is desirable.

• Ability to interpret functional requirements and technical specifications and convert them into effective solutions.

• Experience in business analysis, requirements gathering, and functional specification is advantageous but not mandatory.

• Strong technical documentation and communication skills.

• Ability to work independently on complex technical assignments while effectively collaborating within project teams.

• Self-motivated with a capacity to learn new technologies and deepen SampleManager expertise.

• Willingness to travel as necessary.
