
Senior Sales Specialist – Infectious Disease Diagnostics

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Illinois, +4 more states.
• Develop and implement strategic sales plans for the territory to stimulate new business growth, enhance market penetration, and meet or surpass revenue targets within the urgent care sector.
• Oversee the complete sales cycle through a consultative selling methodology, which includes prospecting, presenting solutions, engaging key stakeholders, negotiating contracts, and finalizing deals, while utilizing Salesforce.com to monitor and progress opportunities.
• Establish and nurture robust relationships with executive-level clients, key opinion leaders, distributors, and industry partners to foster customer retention, competitive conversions, and advocacy for Abbott's products and solutions.
• Assist distributors and internal sales teams with training, technical knowledge, marketing initiatives, and collaborative sales efforts to optimize market share and revenue growth.
• Advocate for Abbott's range of diagnostic products, software, services, and cross-divisional solutions while identifying avenues to enhance adoption within designated accounts.
• Analyze market trends, competitive activities, reimbursement shifts, and regulatory changes to pinpoint growth opportunities and shape business strategies.
• Work collaboratively across functions with operations, regulatory affairs, product development, technical services, and commercial teams to address customer needs, resolve issues, and ensure effective business execution.
• Maintain precise forecasting, reporting, expense management, CRM documentation, and complaint escalation processes, while ensuring adherence to corporate policies and quality standards.
• Represent Abbott at industry conferences, trade shows, distributor meetings, and customer events.
• BA/BS in sales, marketing, business management, or a related field.
• At least 5 years of sales experience with a proven track record of success.
• Additional training in laboratory product sales and the diagnostics industry is preferred.
• Proven expertise in price-value contract negotiations.
• Comprehensive understanding of financial dynamics (pricing, profitability, contract management).
• Willingness and ability to travel and engage with customers throughout the assigned geographical territory approximately 70-75% of the time, including both regional and some national travel to support business objectives and customer engagement.
• Valid Driver's License is required.
