This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New York.
• Develop, shape, and execute sophisticated sales strategies to nurture and oversee a high-value business portfolio, aimed at driving profitable growth.
• Manage the assigned territory, focusing on business development, and utilizing performance metrics to formulate annual plans and oversee territorial performance.
• Perform thorough agency diagnostics to evaluate performance and pinpoint strategic growth opportunities.
• Organize high-level agency meetings and cultivate lasting relationships through office visits, both in-person and virtual.
• Identify, onboard, and establish performance goals for new agencies while offering training and support; may pre-qualify accounts as necessary.
• Influence key agency partners through outstanding communication and negotiation abilities.
• Work collaboratively with internal teams, including Product, Underwriting, and Operations, to ensure the alignment of sales strategies with overall business objectives.
• Grasp Travelers Enterprise focus and capitalize on opportunities to cross-sell Travelers products by initiating cross-functional meetings.
• Recognize book transfer opportunities.
• Maintain in-depth knowledge of competitor products, capabilities, local market trends, and understand the impact of state regulations on agency operations.
• Responsible for conducting workshops and actively leading point-of-sale presentations for both internal and external audiences.
• Participate in and may lead team, cross-team, and/or cross-business projects. May provide training, coaching, and mentoring to Associate Sales Executives and Sales Executives, or manage staff on a limited basis.
• Utilize advanced data and analytics to inform strategic sales decisions, measure performance metrics, and identify opportunities for additional products and services to maintain a balanced portfolio.
• Leverage comprehensive knowledge of Travelers' systems and platforms to facilitate the sales process.
• Utilize AI technologies to enhance industry processes, improve decision-making, and drive innovation, while continually learning and adapting to emerging AI trends and tools.
• Execute other duties as assigned.
• Bachelor’s degree in sales, marketing, business, or a related field.
• Five or more years of experience in insurance sales or related areas, managing a book of business, achieving significant sales growth, conducting agency diagnostics, and utilizing digital sales tools.
• Certified Insurance Counselor (CIC) designation (or willingness to pursue it).
• Extensive knowledge of Travelers products and the general Property & Casualty marketplace.
• Strong influencing and negotiation skills to motivate agency partners to adopt Travelers products and services.
• Demonstrated ability to collaboratively establish and maintain relationships with a diverse array of stakeholders, both internal and external.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
• Capacity to define goals and priorities, meeting them in a timely manner.
• Exceptional organizational skills to handle complex tasks and priorities effectively, while meeting sales goals and deadlines.
• Proven skills in coaching, training, and mentoring others.
• Four years of sales experience within the insurance sector.
• Must reside in the territory managed and be willing to travel up to 75% of the time.
