Senior Sales Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.

📋 Description

• Deliver presentations to current and prospective customers, partners, and at national events (including development staff, CXO’s, and analysts) highlighting the technical and business advantages of Thales cybersecurity solutions.

• Utilize consultative selling techniques to guide in-depth architectural discussions and designs with key clients to grasp technical requirements and business objectives, aiding them in defining their technical needs and suggesting solutions that align with those needs using company products.

• Demonstrate a strong commitment to assisting customers in safeguarding their most valuable assets: their data.

• Collaborate closely with the Product Management team to identify, assess, and provide technical recommendations regarding strategic product improvements based on market trends, emerging technologies, partnerships, or customer requirements.

• Organize and conduct internal and external workshops on topics such as cybersecurity industry trends and best practices.

• Maintain a high level of technical awareness of relevant products, competitors, and market trends.

• Serve as a subject matter expert and technical leader within the organization, acting as a trusted advisor to our top clients.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in a technical field (e.g., Computer Science, Mathematics, or Engineering) or equivalent professional experience.

• 5 to 10 years of pre-sales experience in an enterprise software or security company.

• Expertise in the cybersecurity industry, with knowledge of competitors, industry trends, compliance/regulations, and best practices in cybersecurity.

• Capability to think strategically about business and technical challenges and solutions.

• Experience with enterprise software pre-sales and deployment across private, public, and hybrid cloud environments.

• Exceptional communication, negotiation, and closing skills with prospects and customers.

• Experience in implementing and managing storage encryption with external key managers using the KMIP protocol.

• Proven experience in implementing App-Level Encryption or Tokenization using Rest APIs, and programming languages such as C++, Java, Python, etc.

• Familiarity with networking and security infrastructure, including firewalls, IPS/IDS, VPNs, networking (on-prem, hybrid, cloud), DLPs, CASB, etc.

• Experience in DevOps/DevSecOps, particularly in Secrets Management, CI/CD, Kubernetes, and Docker.

• Comprehensive knowledge of encryption solutions and technologies available for both on-premise and cloud environments, including symmetric encryption algorithms AES-CBC/CFB/CTR/GCM, DES, 3DES, asymmetric encryption algorithms RSA, ECC, DSA, hash algorithms, SSL, and post-quantum algorithms.

• Hands-on experience with enterprise-grade Public Key Infrastructure (PKI) and its deployment is essential.

• Familiarity with PKI and digital certification alongside HSM integration is a requirement for this role.

• Practical experience in enterprise code signing, including workflows/processes and utilizing HSMs.

• Experience in implementing and managing Transparent Data Encryption (TDE) database encryption with an HSM and external key managers.

• Demonstrable experience in integrating applications with General Purpose Hardware Security Modules using APIs such as PKCS#11, MS CAPI/CNG, OpenSSL, and Java.

• Experience in securing data in the cloud using native public cloud security solutions (Key Managers, Encryption services, etc.).
