This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Japan.
• Deliver technical support and manage relationships for current enterprise clients in Japan (e.g., SBI), serving as a trusted technical advisor throughout the partner lifecycle.
• Collaborate with the Sales and Solutions teams on pre-sales technical discussions, solution design, and API consultations, while presenting engaging product and technical use cases to potential clients.
• Assist new enterprise clients with API integration, implementation, and onboarding processes.
• Represent the voice of Japanese customers by working with Product and Engineering teams to enhance localized experiences; translate intricate business and technical requirements (often originating in Japanese) into clear specifications for Alpaca's global engineering team.
• Act as the product and technical subject matter expert, capable of fully understanding and articulating all facets of the Alpaca platform to various audiences and stakeholders.
• Collaborate closely with local compliance and operations teams to grasp local and regional product requirements (e.g., JFSA regulations, NISA, local post-trade/settlement practices for US and JP securities).
• Manage technical sales engagement from start to finish: discovery calls, solution validation, RFPs, and security questionnaires that secure deals; lead demo strategy and execution.
• Develop sales support materials and documentation for new features and products, including Japanese-language collateral as necessary.
• Coordinate in Japanese with local regulators, vendors, and partners, and communicate those requirements to the global product and engineering teams.
• Assist customers in successfully adopting Alpaca's platform while upholding a high standard of technical and customer support; travel within Japan/APAC as required.
• Stay informed on internal product development timelines and collaborate closely with the product team to test and deploy new features for partners.
• Proven experience in supporting enterprise/B2B customers in a technical, sales engineering, or solutions engineering capacity (typically 5+ years), preferably at API or SaaS-first companies.
• Strong knowledge of REST APIs, SDKs, and software integration workflows; hands-on experience with APIs, WebSockets, Postman, Grafana, and JSON.
• Native or business-level proficiency in Japanese, with exceptional customer communication skills and a solid grasp of Japanese business culture - crucial for partner, vendor, and regulator interactions.
• Business-level proficiency in English for collaboration with global, cross-functional teams; capable of driving clarity on objectives, setting expectations, and effectively gathering feedback.
• Ability to simplify complex technical concepts into easily understandable terms.
• A self-motivated individual who excels in a startup environment, manages multiple tasks concurrently, works independently, and drives projects to completion with meticulous attention to detail.
