Senior Safety & Systems Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Europe.

📋 Description

• Collaborate with the Head of Safety and Head of Systems to:

• Design, analyze, and conduct Verification & Validation (V&V) of the autonomous vehicle system architecture.

• Develop autonomous driving systems alongside cross-functional teams and formulate the safety case that documents and supports the integrity of the solution.

• Lead the creation, evolution, and implementation of reliable, safety-critical systems for autonomous driving in the airport driving environment.

• Assist in:

• Defining and monitoring KPIs for data-driven engineering and system performance.

• Developing data collection and analysis pipelines to enhance V&V processes.

• Establishing safety goals and requirements based on the ODD, hazards, and risks.

• Creating and managing documentation for requirements, traceability, and system architecture.

• Shaping system behaviors for critical safety scenarios and ensuring robust designs.

• Identifying and communicating risks while coordinating solutions and mitigations across teams.

• Developing an innovative safety framework for autonomous airside driving.

• Setting, overseeing, and maintaining the stringent engineering standards necessary for fail-safe performance.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mechatronics, Aerospace, or a related field (or equivalent experience).

• Practical experience with systems engineering (e.g., V Model, requirements documentation, traceability, V&V).

• Proven experience generating safety artifacts for a complex autonomous system, such as Hazard Analyses (HARAs), FMEAs, FTAs, STPAs.

• Background in developing and deploying robotic systems and/or autonomous vehicles with safety-critical components.

• Basic understanding of functional safety and SOTIF.

• Experience with data analysis and reporting, including basic proficiency in Python/SQL and/or a willingness to learn.

• Capability to communicate technical issues and solutions at all organizational levels.

• Hands-on mindset with a readiness to engage deeply and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
