This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Florida, +2 more states.
• This role involves significant programming and data evaluation for RW data analyses.
• Familiarity with commercial databases such as Optum, HealthVerity, or PharmMetrics is essential.
• Providing support for the review of protocols and SAP in collaboration with the epidemiologist is crucial.
• Positions within the Statistical Programming job family are tasked with developing programs and offering statistical programming assistance for epidemiologists or for client or business needs, focusing on sourcing, organizing (creating statistical tables, listings, and graphs), and interpreting complex datasets through coding and programming.
• Responsibilities include creating codes that generate analysis datasets, tables, and figures, assessing programming processes, and recommending modifications aimed at enhancing productivity.
• Data Experience: eHR Claims Data: Optum, HealthVerity, or IQVIA PharmMetrics
• Preferred: MarketScan, VA data, Medicaid, Medicare
• Programming Language: SAS or R
• SQL experience is required.
• Experience in programmatic cohort derivation
• Index date definition knowledge
• Modeling/Programming GLM Logistic, Cox, Propensity Score Matching, and Incidence computation
• Ability to prepare data specifications and develop a thorough understanding of study protocols.
• Review data and program outputs against protocol requirements, identifying issues or questions, and escalating them as necessary.
• Capability to handle unstructured data
• Identify challenges and potential solutions
• Comprehend the follow-up period and its implications
• Utilize ICD or other relevant clinical terminology
• OMOP CDM understanding
• Transform healthcare data into a standardized format
• Familiarity with AI/ML for LLM and workflow and scaffolding is advantageous.
• Preferred: Experience in AI/ML modeling.
• Proficient with GitHub and version control.
• Utilize R, SAS, Python, or other software to create custom programming code to generate summary tables, data listings, graphs, and derived RW datasets as outlined in the statistical analysis plan and programming specifications.
• Develop programming specifications.
• Ensure that outputs align with quality standards and project requirements.
• Conduct validation programming and collaborate with other Programmers, Biostatisticians, Epidemiologists, and project team members to address discrepancies or findings.
• Keep project team members updated on programming progress and any issues that require their attention.
• Adhere to relevant SOPs, WIs, and regulatory guidelines (e.g., ICH).
• Maintain organized, thorough, and up-to-date project documentation, testing, and verification/quality control documents and programs to ensure inspection readiness.
• Manage scheduling and time constraints across multiple projects, set goals based on management priorities, and adapt to timeline or priority changes by reorganizing daily tasks.
• Develop specifications for datasets and outputs of varying complexity in accordance with statistical and sponsor requirements.
• Anticipate and address potential programming challenges, demonstrating foresight, establishing a foundation for efficient programming, and accurately defining all variables for peer review and sponsor/requestor acceptance with minimal rework.
• Prepare for internal meetings in advance, contribute ideas, and show respect for others' opinions.
• Conduct effective internal meetings (appropriate in format, frequency, and attendance).
• Distribute relevant information beforehand.
• Ensure that minutes are distributed promptly and accurately.
• Follow through on action items to completion, maintaining order and focus during meetings, working towards consensus.
