Senior Ruby on Rails Developer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Poland, +4 more countries.

📋 Description

• Design, develop, and enhance Ruby on Rails services that drive the iGaming platform.

• Create high-throughput APIs, manage payment and wallet processes, implement real-time game integrations, and develop back-office tools.

• Utilize coding assistants and AI agents for tasks like scaffolding, refactoring, test creation, and code reviews while maintaining ownership of merged code quality.

• Integrate LLM-based functionalities into the product for fraud and risk detection, automation of player support, content generation, and internal analytics assistance.

• Analyze critical paths, optimize PostgreSQL queries, devise caching and background processing strategies, and investigate incidents to identify root causes.

• Review code written by both humans and AI.

• Mentor mid-level engineers and contribute to establishing standards for responsible AI usage.

• Engage in architecture discussions, participate in technical planning, and collaborate on cross-team initiatives.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 4 years of professional experience with Ruby on Rails.

• An in-depth understanding of Ruby internals, Rails conventions, and the ability to identify when to deviate from them.

• Proficient in SQL and PostgreSQL, including skills in indexing, query optimization, and performing migrations on large tables without causing downtime.

• A strong foundation in distributed system principles, covering message queues, idempotency, eventual consistency, background jobs (like Sidekiq), and caching (e.g., Redis).

• Practical experience with AI coding tools in daily operations.

• Capability to assess and validate AI-generated code and effectively write and interpret tests.

• Experience in designing and utilizing REST and/or gRPC APIs.

• Familiarity with OpenAPI specifications.

• Proficient with Git, CI/CD processes, and Docker.

• Comfortable interpreting Kubernetes manifests and logs.

• Experience with observability tools such as Prometheus/Grafana, Sentry, or OpenTelemetry.

• Upper-intermediate or higher proficiency in both English and Russian.

• Experience in integrating LLM APIs into production Ruby applications, including prompt design, structured output handling, evaluation, and management of costs and latency.

• Familiarity with RAG pipelines, vector databases, or agent frameworks.

• Understanding of security and data privacy considerations related to AI functionality.

• Background in fintech, payments, or iGaming.

• Knowledge of regulatory and responsible gaming standards.

• Contributions to open-source Ruby projects, as well as involvement in talks or technical writing.

• Working knowledge of Go, Elixir, or TypeScript for cross-service collaboration.
