Senior RTI Researcher

📋 Description

• Conceptualization

• Collaborate with traders and researchers to pinpoint potential trading opportunities driven by news.

• Keep core themes updated by conveying significant information.

• Maintain a comprehensive calendar of important events.

• Sourcing and Monitoring

• Identify essential sources of breaking news for all monitored themes.

• Collaborate with developers to enhance the ingestion process of critical sources.

• Observe content flows in real-time and notify traders and researchers of potential trading opportunities.

• Develop and sustain high-quality alerts

• Create automated alerts with high precision and recall for themes of interest. Prioritize, enable, disable, and update alerts as market conditions evolve.

• Regularly assess alerts to ensure they remain relevant, robust, and resilient.

• Collaboration with our technical team

• Oversee product development for our real-time event monitoring and alert system.

• Conduct QA/UAT and test all alert releases and products to ensure they meet the firm's stringent quality standards.

⛳️ Requirements

• Prior experience in trading firms, hedge funds, market intelligence, or financial news organizations: expertise in identifying and generating alpha from news.

• Profound understanding of real-time information flows and their influence on the price formation process.

• Familiarity with news dissemination, tracking impactful sources, individuals, and topics in real-time.

• Knowledge of precision/recall scoring methods for optimizing alert systems.

• Experience with social media aggregation platforms such as X Pro (TweetDeck).

• Background in handling unstructured data and text analytics.

• Proficiency in market data, financial data charting, and analytics.

• Skilled in scripting and query languages, such as Python, Rust, and SQL.

• Exceptional attention to detail with the capability to monitor various market themes concurrently.

• Ability to make swift, informed decisions in high-pressure environments, including accurately analyzing and responding to critical market-moving events.

• Strong communication skills to convey key insights and findings to traders and researchers.

• Experience with TradMedia platforms like Bloomberg, LSEG/Refinitiv, and Dow Jones.

• Extensive network within the ecosystem and familiarity with key influencers, news sources, and information channels.
