This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.
• Spearhead EDI projects utilizing Cleo Extol to connect IBM i applications, customers, suppliers, and third-party systems.
• Assess business needs, resolve application and EDI challenges, and provide solutions throughout the project lifecycle.
• Analyze, design, code, test, and maintain applications with RPG, RPGLE, Free-Form RPG, Embedded SQL, and DB2 for i.
• Create and support data exchanges using X12, EDIFACT, XML, and various EDI standards.
• Conduct unit, integration, user acceptance, and regression testing.
• Develop and sustain technical documentation for applications, interfaces, EDI mappings, and business processes.
• Offer technical direction, conduct code reviews, and assist junior team members.
• Update legacy IBM i applications and integration frameworks into scalable ILE-based solutions.
• In-depth IBM i proficiency in developing and supporting enterprise solutions on IBM i (iSeries / AS400).
• Strong experience with Cleo Extol EDI, encompassing EDI mapping, translation, trading partner onboarding, transaction troubleshooting, and production EDI support.
• Comprehensive knowledge of RPG III, RPG IV, RPGLE, Free-Form RPG, Embedded SQL, service programs, and contemporary ILE development.
• Proficient in ANSI X12, EDIFACT, XML, CSV, and other EDI formats.
• Advanced skills in DB2 for i, including database design, SQL programming, query optimization, and data modeling.
• Business insight in distribution, manufacturing, supply chain, logistics, finance, or insurance sectors.
• Experience in integrating IBM i applications with external systems, APIs, web services, and middleware.
• Background in change management and deployment, including organized release processes and source control.
• Excellent communication skills with both technical and business stakeholders.
• Familiarity with Cleo Harmony, Clarify, or other Cleo integration platforms is advantageous.
• Experience in supporting high-volume EDI environments is beneficial.
• Knowledge of IBM i ERP solutions such as Infor LX, BPCS, Infor XA, MAPICS, PRMS, JDE, Frontier, or HFA is a plus.
• Experience with RDi or Eclipse-based IBM i development tools is a plus.
• Familiarity with Git, SVN, or other source control tools in an IBM i environment is a plus.
• Experience with impact analysis and application modernization tools is a plus.
• Integration experience with REST APIs, JSON, XML, GoAnywhere, FTP/SFTP, and other data exchange technologies is a plus.
• Understanding of trading partner onboarding, EDI compliance, and best practices for supply chain data integration is a plus.
