
Senior Revenue Accounting Manager

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Arizona, +29 more states.
• Take charge of the monthly revenue closing process.
• Ensure that revenue recognition aligns with U.S. GAAP and ASC 606 standards accurately.
• Review and reconcile deferred revenue, unbilled revenue, and associated balance sheet accounts.
• Investigate and address complex revenue accounting issues through thorough research, analysis, and collaboration.
• Review and authorize revenue-related journal entries, reconciliations, and supporting documents.
• Collaborate with external auditors and assist in annual audit activities related to revenue accounting.
• Promote continuous enhancements in revenue accounting procedures, controls, and reporting.
• Manage billing processes for a variety of products, services, and contract arrangements.
• Ensure that customer invoices are generated accurately and dispatched promptly.
• Work together with Sales Operations, Customer Success, and Finance teams to address billing inquiries and enhance the customer experience.
• Strengthen billing controls, operational workflows, and documentation practices.
• Assist in the evaluation and improvement of billing systems, automation, and integrations.
• Collaborate with business stakeholders to enhance data accuracy and system integrations.
• Identify process deficiencies, data discrepancies, and the root causes of operational issues, then create sustainable solutions.
• Lead or assist in system implementations, upgrades, and special projects related to revenue operations.
• Develop scalable processes to support the company's ongoing growth.
• Lead, mentor, and develop a team of accounting professionals located in India.
• Cultivate an inclusive and collaborative environment focused on growth, accountability, and continuous improvement.
• Set clear goals, priorities, and developmental opportunities for team members.
• Provide coaching, feedback, and support to help the team meet individual and business goals.
• Prepare and review monthly reports on revenue, billing, and accounts receivable for executive leadership.
• Support Board and management reporting with essential revenue metrics and insights.
• Collaborate with Finance and business leaders to assess revenue trends, forecasts, and operational effects.
• Perform ad hoc analyses to support strategic initiatives and business decisions.
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance.
• In-depth knowledge of U.S. GAAP and ASC 606 revenue recognition standards.
• Experience managing revenue accounting in a SaaS, technology, or recurring revenue setting.
• Proven experience overseeing billing operations and deferred revenue.
• Demonstrated success in leading and developing accounting or finance professionals.
• Familiarity with NetSuite and Salesforce.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and process improvement capabilities.
• Above-average proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Ability to communicate effectively and foster strong relationships across various functions.
