
Senior Revenue Accounting Manager

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Arizona, +30 more states.
• Oversee the monthly revenue closing procedures.
• Ensure that revenue recognition adheres to U.S. GAAP and ASC 606 standards.
• Review and reconcile deferred revenue, unbilled revenue, and associated balance sheet accounts.
• Analyze and resolve complex revenue accounting issues through research, analysis, and collaboration.
• Review and authorize revenue-related journal entries, reconciliations, and supporting documentation.
• Collaborate with external auditors and assist in annual audit processes related to revenue accounting.
• Promote ongoing enhancements in revenue accounting processes, controls, and reporting.
• Manage billing procedures across various products, services, and contract types.
• Ensure accurate generation and timely delivery of customer invoices.
• Collaborate with Sales Operations, Customer Success, and Finance teams to address billing inquiries and enhance customer experience.
• Strengthen billing controls, operational workflows, and necessary documentation.
• Assist in the evaluation and improvement of billing systems, automation, and integrations.
• Partner with business stakeholders to enhance data accuracy and system integrations.
• Identify process gaps, data discrepancies, and the root causes of operational issues, then devise sustainable solutions.
• Lead or assist in system implementations, enhancements, and special projects related to revenue operations.
• Develop scalable processes that support the company's ongoing growth.
• Lead, mentor, and develop a team of accounting professionals based in India.
• Create an inclusive, collaborative environment focused on growth, accountability, and continuous improvement.
• Set clear goals, priorities, and development opportunities for team members.
• Provide coaching, feedback, and support to help the team meet individual and organizational objectives.
• Prepare and review monthly revenue, billing, and accounts receivable reports for executive leadership.
• Support Board and management reporting with essential revenue metrics and insights.
• Collaborate with Finance and business leaders to assess revenue trends, forecasts, and operational impacts.
• Conduct ad hoc analyses to support strategic initiatives and business decision-making.
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance.
• In-depth knowledge of U.S. GAAP and ASC 606 revenue recognition standards.
• Experience managing revenue accounting in a SaaS, technology, or recurring-revenue environment.
• Proven experience overseeing billing operations and deferred revenue.
• Demonstrated success in leading and developing accounting or finance professionals.
• Familiarity with NetSuite and Salesforce.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and process improvement abilities.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
• Proficient in effective communication and building strong interdepartmental relationships.
• Experience managing multiple priorities in a dynamic, fast-paced setting.
• Preferred Qualifications
• CPA or Master’s degree.
• Experience with billing platforms such as Ordway, Chargebee, Zuora, etc.
• Experience working with an international team.
• Background in a private equity-backed organization.
• Experience in supporting government, legal technology, or highly regulated industries.
