Senior Revenue Accounting

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Poland.

📋 Description

• Conduct thorough evaluations of customer contracts and order forms to ascertain the proper revenue recognition treatment in accordance with ASC 606/IFRS 15, including the identification of performance obligations, allocation, and timing of revenue.

• Implement ASC 606/IFRS 15 guidelines for intricate SaaS agreements, encompassing subscription, usage-based, and multi-element contracts.

• Carry out monthly and quarterly revenue closing processes, which include revenue and deferred revenue reconciliations, journal entries and supporting schedules, as well as flux and variance analysis.

• Ensure the accuracy and completeness of revenue-related accounts, such as deferred revenue, contract assets, and accounts receivable-related balances.

• Collaborate with Sales, Deal Desk, Legal, Billing, and Finance Operations to address revenue and billing concerns and to clarify contract terms that have accounting implications.

• Engage in system enhancements, process improvements, and testing activities (including User Acceptance Testing) related to revenue accounting.

• Identify areas for enhancing efficiency, controls, and scalability within revenue processes.

• Assist in internal and external audits by preparing schedules, documentation, and responding to inquiries related to revenue.

• Ensure compliance with internal controls and adherence to company accounting policies and U.S. GAAP.

• Serve as a senior team member by reviewing the work of others, sharing best practices, and informally mentoring less-experienced revenue accountants.

• Contribute to the ongoing enhancement of revenue accounting standards and documentation.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.

• Clear and confident communication skills in English, with a minimum B2 level.

• Over 2 years of progressive accounting experience in a multinational or shared services setting.

• Experience with Revenue Systems (such as Workday Financials, NetSuite ARM, Zuora Revenue) is advantageous, along with data comprehension.

• Intermediate to advanced skills in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.

• Strong technical knowledge of U.S. GAAP, with an emphasis on software and SaaS revenue recognition, including usage-based commit contracts.

• Capacity to work independently, prioritize tasks, and take ownership of complex issues.

• Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities with a keen attention to detail.
