Accounting Manager

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in India.

📋 Description

• Take the lead in the month-end closing process as an essential member of the accounting team by overseeing specific tasks, expenses, revenue, and payroll components of the P&L.

• Generate and assess journal entries in the general ledger while preparing and evaluating robust supporting schedules.

• Compile and scrutinize monthly balance sheet reconciliations, including investigating aged or unresolved items.

• Examine and rectify both current and historical issues related to various transaction types.

• Establish accounting procedures for new product lines or initiatives.

• Recognize opportunities for enhancements and drive process improvements.

• Collaborate with our external auditors to ensure the prompt completion of reviews and audits.

• Provide education to colleagues regarding financial practices, implications, and policies.

• Offer ad hoc analytical support to business leaders and key partners for intricate accounting inquiries.

• Act as a mentor and resource for junior team members.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance.

• 5-7 years of experience in an accounting firm or in-house at a corporation.

• A minimum of 1 year in a management role.

• Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP.

• Ability to adapt to frequent changes in the business environment.

• Proven proficiency in Excel (including combining large data sets, sumifs, index/match, vlookups, etc.); familiarity with SQL is an advantage.

• Experience with Netsuite is a plus.

• Background working at a public company is advantageous.

• Demonstrated capacity to manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail.

• Actively seeking to enhance processes; consistently striving for improvement.

• Skills in stakeholder management.

• Experience in industries such as financial technology, mortgage banking, or lending is a plus.
