This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Take charge of the complete client invoicing process, ensuring billing is both timely and precise.
• Oversee accounts receivable functions, which include maintaining customer accounts, reviewing aging reports, conducting collection efforts, and resolving disputes.
• Track and report essential revenue cycle metrics such as DSO, collections efficiency, unbilled revenue, deferred revenue, and billing accuracy.
• Examine client contracts and collaborate with Legal, Sales, and Operations to guarantee proper revenue recognition and billing setup in compliance with ASC 606.
• Create and maintain schedules for revenue recognition and reconcile deferred revenue.
• Compute monthly revenue recognition entries and assist in month-end closing activities connected to revenue accounting.
• Collaborate with Client Success and Operations to ensure correct contract setup, billing, and revenue treatment.
• Aid in the integration of acquired entities and the standardization of revenue recognition, billing, and collection procedures.
• Enhance and refine revenue accounting controls, policies, and procedures.
• Prepare audit schedules and address auditor inquiries related to revenue, accounts receivable, unbilled revenue, and deferred revenue.
• Discover opportunities to automate billing, collections, and revenue accounting processes within NetSuite.
• Organize and prioritize revenue-related tasks across the accounting team, acting as the main resource for billing, collections, and revenue recognition inquiries.
• Assist with monthly revenue forecasting, backlog analysis, and recurring revenue reporting.
• Lead special projects and perform ad hoc financial analyses as directed by the Controller and CFO.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance (CPA or CPA candidate is highly preferred).
• More than 7 years of advancing accounting experience, with a minimum of 2 years in a senior or lead accountant role.
• Required experience in the SaaS industry; preferred experience in a private equity-backed company.
• Proficient with ERP systems (NetSuite experience is essential) and possess advanced Excel skills.
• Strong understanding of US GAAP and the ability to apply it to everyday accounting practices.
• Outstanding organizational skills and the capability to handle multiple priorities while meeting deadlines.
• Proven experience implementing ASC 606 guidelines in complex SaaS and professional services contracts, including variable consideration, contract modifications, and multi-element arrangements.
• Background in managing SaaS billing and revenue recognition processes.
• Experience with accounting for deferred and unbilled revenue and conducting contract reviews.
• Demonstrated success in managing accounts receivable and collection processes.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Proven capacity to influence, mentor, and coordinate the work of others without formal supervisory authority.
