This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California, +1 more state.
• Assist in the monthly, quarterly, and year-end closing processes by preparing journal entries, supporting schedules, and conducting financial reconciliations.
• Prepare, review, and maintain reconciliations of general ledger accounts and monthly balance sheets to ensure financial accuracy and completeness.
• Contribute to the creation of monthly financial statements, management reports, and internal reporting packages.
• Conduct variance analysis by comparing financial results against budgets, forecasts, and prior periods, identifying trends, and offering recommendations.
• Support revenue recognition processes in alignment with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
• Execute daily cash management tasks, including bank reconciliations and cash reporting.
• Assist in preparing audit schedules, supporting documentation, and responding to requests from external auditors.
• Aid in fulfilling annual tax reporting requirements by collecting, organizing, and validating financial data.
• Help maintain and enhance internal controls to ensure compliance with accounting standards and company policies.
• Identify and suggest opportunities for process improvements and support enhancements to accounting systems that boost efficiency and reporting accuracy.
• Collaborate with Finance, Operations, Payroll, and other departments to address accounting issues and support organizational initiatives.
• Ensure the maintenance of accurate financial records while complying with regulatory requirements and accounting best practices.
• Undertake additional accounting and finance-related tasks and special projects as assigned.
• A Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline is required.
• Two to three years of progressive accounting experience is necessary.
• A solid understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) is essential.
• Experience in preparing journal entries, account reconciliations, financial statements, and conducting variance analysis is required.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and experience with accounting and financial systems are necessary.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills, along with exceptional attention to detail, are a must.
• Excellent verbal and written communication abilities are required.
• Capability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and work independently in a dynamic environment is essential.
• Experience in the healthcare, behavioral health, or ABA industry is preferred.
• CPA or CPA candidate status is preferred but not mandatory.
